Tickets & Hours
The Forbidden City is open Tuesday through Sunday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (5 PM in summer). Tickets must be purchased online in advance through the official website - same-day tickets are rarely available. Peak season (April-October): 60 RMB. Low season (November-March): 40 RMB. The Treasure Gallery and Clock Gallery require separate tickets (10 RMB each). ID or passport is required for entry.
Visitor Tips
Enter through the Meridian Gate (south) and exit through the Gate of Divine Prowess (north). Audio guides are available in multiple languages. Visit on weekday mornings to avoid crowds.
